• Calle Serrano

    Shopping Streets
  • \r\n Without a doubt Calle Serrano is the smartest shopping street in Madrid and home to all the top designer names. Its up-market, air-conditioned shopping mall, Galería ABC Serrano, is a good spot for browsing on a hot day and boasts a fine selection of boutiques including some high fashion names. The well-known department store El Corte Inglés also has branches at numbers 47 and 52, although they are not as large as the stores on Calle Goya. More interesting boutiques are to be found on the streets surrounding Serrano, particularly Lagasca, Jorge Juan and Claudio Coello.

Adolfo Dominguez - the best of many Madrid outlets from Spain's leading fashion designer
Armani Collezioni - one of three Armani presences in Madrid. Giorgio Armani is at C/ José Ortega Y Gasset 16, while Emporio Armani is at C/ Juan Bravo, 1.
Bimba & Lola - great Spanish brand, offering wearable, graceful women's fashion with an emphasis on indulgence and fun
Carolina Herrera - flagship store of the New York based, Venezuelan-born designer
Cartier - a little further up the street from the pack is Cartier's main Madrid store
Diesel - also in Chueca on C/ Fuencarral
Ermenegilda Zegna - sensationally chic menswear from the Italian designer who is, perhaps undeservedly, less well known than Armani
Farrutx - women's fashion and accessories, but it's the shoes that absolutely shine in this Salamanca must-see
Geltra - reasonably-priced leatherwear, shoes and accessories
Hoss - smart and trendy womenswear, also on C/ Fuencarral
La Perla - Italian lingerie and swimwear label
Loewe - founded in 1872, Loewe is the byword in classic Spanish leather accessories
Longchamp - cool, understated French luggage and accessories
Musgo - an eclectic mish mash of very stylish homeware, gifts, fashion and accessories for adults and children. Great window displays.
Pedro del Hierro - slick, cosmopolitan and elegant womenswear from a Spanish label with, sadly, a limited presence outside of Spain
Purifacion Garcia -  elegant and discreet daywear from another interesting Spanish designer
Tommy Hilfiger - king of the classic American preppy
Yves Saint Laurent - flagship store for the French design legend
