Without a doubt Calle Serrano is the smartest shopping street in Madrid and home to all the top designer names. Its up-market, air-conditioned shopping mall, Galería ABC Serrano, is a good spot for browsing on a hot day and boasts a fine selection of boutiques including some high fashion names. The well-known department store El Corte Inglés also has branches at numbers 47 and 52, although they are not as large as the stores on Calle Goya. More interesting boutiques are to be found on the streets surrounding Serrano, particularly Lagasca, Jorge Juan and Claudio Coello.
