Thanks to a recent renovation, as well as some of the finest flamenco artists appearing regularly, Las Carboneras is considered the best place to see live flamenco shows in Madrid. Each fortnight sees a different guest artist take a turn, usually being the last of the group of dancers to get up and perform.
Las Carboneras also has some of the highest calibre live music in Madrid - something that can sometimes be wasted on the audience sat at the tables, but greatly appreciated by the locals, who usually congregate at the bar. The maitre d', Kike, will keep you amused, while the rest of the staff speak all kinds of languages. Thanks to the varied clientele it attracts, the restaurant has even had its menu translated into Japanese.
