Mondo

Having started life way back in 1999, Mondo is one of the longest running clubs in Madrid and has seen out a refurbishment of its home in Sala Stella as well as a promotion from just a Thursday night affair to a Thursday and Saturday night slot.

As a night, Mondo has gone from strength to strength, having first attracted somewhat obscure DJs from mostly European labels to international heavy-hitters such as Josh Wink and A Guy Called Gerald - not bad for a relatively small venue.

No one bothers getting there until 3am, so turn up early if you want to have a recce before the punters stream in. The music is all about electro, deep house and techno, to which the crowd of friendly regulars goes mental on the sunken dance-floor.
