Cast your eye on the front windows and door of Susan Club, which are squished into a tiny corner of the Calle Reina, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that this is going to be the smallest nightclub in Madrid. Well, while the main bar area may be a little on the slim side, venture downstairs to the larger bar and you'll find plenty of elbow room at Club Susan.
And besides, a smaller space means a more intimate experience, and given that the venue is frequented by plenty of writers and journos, you're bound to strike up an interesting conversation with your neighbour. The cocktail menu is very New York, while their gin and tonics are frighteningly strong.
